The event had not only the largest number of graduates ever, but it also had the highest attendance ever! KPIS TED Ed Club would like to invite you to their first TED Ed Club presentation on Tuesday, May 22, 1:00 PM onward. As a TED Ed club in Middle School and High School, they have recently completed the first cycle of exploring ideas that they are passionate about. The students have journeyed through various phases of identifying and shaping ideas which are worth sharing with the world. Through guided brainstorms and active peer feedback exercises the KPIS TED Ed Club members have crafted their very own TED-style talks. Please join us in celebrating and amplifying student voices as they share their unique ideas that they have discovered and explored during their club cycle in a TED-style talks. The KPIS Songkran(Thai New Year) celebration was held on Thursday, April 12, 2018.  This celebration was organized by the Thai department of KPIS International School. The Songkran activities started early morning with the entire KPIS Community being involved in Merit Making which was followed by the pouring water ceremony. The celebration then continued with activities organized by high school students On the Breezeway, there were various stations where students taught others to make Look Choup, Khanom Bualoi(Thai dessert) and Khanom Khrok(Thai dish).  All enjoyed eating the food that they had learned to prepare. KPIS International School held the 5th Annual KPIS STEM Fair on April 11, 2018. The STEM fair took place in the afternoon during the 4th block. Elementary School dazzled us with displays in and around the Breezeway with their great projects:  Grade 1 students in Mr. John’s and Mr. Colin’s classes investigated forces, motion, and gravity with their every-famous marble tracks! Mr. Richard’s grade 2 students showed off their conservation-conscious drip irrigation system, an essential component of the city of tomorrow! Mr. Osman’s grade 2 students had DRAGON RACERS that demonstrated how frictional forces from different surfaces affect motion.    The KPIS Kindergarten went on a field trip to Children’s Discovery Museum, Chatuchak on April 10, 2018. This field trip provided the opportunity for the students to explore new experiences, to share social experience and to increase interest and engagement in a setting outside our school environment. The Children’s Discovery Museum popular attractions for the students were excavating dinosaur bones and partaking in other dinosaur-related activities, running around in the outdoor water play park, engaging in role-playing with costumes, building with thousands of Lego pieces, and trying lots of hands-on science experiments. On March 23, 2018, KPIS hosted the tenth anniversary special: KPIS Music Challenge 2018 where 27 international and bilingual schools participated. This competition aims to promote singing, band & dancing contests in Thailand by developing and encouraging young people to show and develop their musical talents.   There were three categories, which included band, singing, and dance. KPIS Summer Fun and Growth Camp takes place at the school campus. Our Summer Camp focuses on developing learners’ English language capabilities with an emphasis on phonics, reading, math and Thai. The KPIS Kindergarten House Day was held on March 16, 2018. All students and teachers were ready in the KG playground at 08:15 am. After the morning song all of them walked to the field. The sports field was split into 4 activity stations. Each station had a teacher present to instruct the students on what to do and collected scores. Team teachers and parents were invited to join in all the games. All students had to rotate around stations clockwise with their class after each activity was complete. Shark Guardian at KPIS

Shark Guardian visited KPIS International School on Friday, 30th March, 2018. They spent a day at KPIS and presented educational presentations about sharks. This event was their third visit to KPIS and all were excited to have them back. Part of the event was also to raise funds and donations to support Shark Guardian conservation campaigns and activities worldwide. KPIS organized a lot of fundraiser activities to support the Shark Guardian and for all the students to participate. This event was an enjoyable learning experience. KPIS donated 43,450 Baht to Shark Guardian. A big thanks to all parents, students and staff who contributed to this fundraising event. A Day without Walls Through "A Day without Wall" activity on January 16, 2018 secondary students became engaged in experiential learning by participating in discussions and investigations on global and social issues. The entire activity through the day was led by students. The aim of this event was to inspire, connect and empower students to take appropriate and effective service actions to benefit communities and environment. "Fifth graders worked diligently throughout the months of September and October learning and researching a vital explorer from the Age of Exploration era. They learned about the courageous men who went into the unknown to learn more about our world and changed the knowledge of mankind. After reading and researching, students worked in groups to promote teamwork and commitment to their individual reports on a famous explorer. They wrote their own scripts, presented a skit, designed props, and created informative poster boards/visuals to educate grades three and four about their explorer. This explorers unit encompassed common core standards in informational reading, social studies, writing, and our school's ESLR'S values. On 28th of February, Grade 11 students and KPIS Amnesty Club members from Grade 9 had a wonderful opportunity to participate in a poverty simulation and collaboration activity with high school students from St. Andrews International School at their Sukhumvit 107 campus. The goal of this activity was to raise awareness on issues like poverty and refugee crisis as a global phenomenon. In addition, the goal was also to encourage students to be involved in problem solving and critical thinking activities. The event started with an ice-breaker activity to warm up the students for conversation and team building. Grade 2 students were given an independent investigation project over the Christmas holidays in which they had to research an animal of their choice. Subsequent to selecting an animal, students were required to come up with three questions about their animal. There was an additional bonus question from the teacher and each pupil was tasked with illustrating their animal in its environment and completing an arts and crafts collage. Furthermore, students got to dress up as their animal when presenting fun facts they researched in books and online. KPIS would like to congratulate Grade 7 student Natachanok Tunwannarux on her success in golf. Here is a brief three month update on her achievements: Natachanok was the winner for Class C Girl (Age11-12years) and 2 best daily score awards in Singha Thailand Junior World Golf Championship 2017 at the Royal Hua-Hin Golf Course, Prachuabkhirikhun, in November 2-5, 2017. This Tournament had junior golfers from around the world to compete at the first golf course of Thailand. Natachanok then went on to be a champion for Overall Low gross of International Golf Junior and Best daily score medal award in “The APJGA Thailand Master Final 2017” at Narai Hills Golf Resort and Country Club, Lopburi, November 17-19, 2017.
