HEAD OF ELEMENTARY

content_20110224161924

On behalf of the elementary staff, I would like to welcome you to KPIS’s Elementary School (ES).  Our vision is "To be an international school providing a well balanced education that will enable our students to become morally and ethically responsible and productive citizens in a globally competitive information - based society".

We believe that learning should be challenging as well as fun.  From Grade 1 to 6, students are encouraged to be actively involved in their own learning, to challenge themselves, to wonder, to ask questions and to explore and analyze the world around them.  Teachers demonstrate respect, understanding and compassion, while supporting and challenging each student to reach his or her potential in a caring, safe and supportive environment.

We are very proud of our program, our teachers, and, most importantly, our students.

Teachers incorporate a wide range of “best practice” approaches in their teaching, recognizing that our students bring a variety of learning styles, academic abilities, linguistic knowledge and cultural background and experiences to the classroom.  Our highly qualified Intensive English Studies teachers (IES) and Learning Support staff provide additional support in English, literacy and special needs, helping students build a strong foundation that will lead to future success. This year we are adding two new internet based programs to support the individual needs and levels of all students. All students in Elementary will have access to Raz-kids and IXL at school and home with their own username and password.

As educators, we believe in working together with parents and families in order to assure the most valuable learning experience for each child.  We encourage frequent communication between teachers and parents, and provide regular reports of student progress as well as of current curricular topics and special activities within the classroom and the Elementary School.  The contributions of all members of the KPIS Community help to enrich the school program and the educational experience of the students.

Thank you for your interest in our school. We hope you find our website useful and encourage you to contact us if you have any questions.

Kind regards,

Gavin Paul
