The Annual KPIS Stem fair engineering challenge was held earlier this month and consisted of four events. In the first event, Vehicular Bowling, students designed, constructed, tested, and optimized a self-propelled vehicle that could travel a certain distance.
The second event, Roller Coaster, tasked students with designing, building, and testing, a device that could roll a ball along a track for a configurable interval. In the third event, Bridge Demolition, students designed, constructed, tested, and optimized the lightest wooden bridge with the highest structural integrity that could span an opening of a specified length.
Lastly, the fourth event was Mystery Architecture, where students designed and constructed a mystery structure from a kit provided to them under a forty-minute time constraint. The students prepared for this event by practicing architecturally sound-designed concepts before the actual challenge.
Here is an overview of the engineering challenge results.
