KPIS International school Bangkok hosted the Transition to Middle School meeting on Tuesday, September 8, 2020, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am in the school Auditorium. All grade 6 parents were invited to this meeting to discuss learning for their child(ren) as they transition into Middle School. With COVID19 protocols in place, there was no way prior to the start of the school year for this meeting to happen.
The Grade 6 Teaching Team which consists of Math/Science – Mr. Jeffery Pugh, Language Arts/Social Studies – Ms. Sarah Anaya, Counselor – Ms. Monisha Agarwal, and Principal – Dr. Jerome Banks provided Grade 6 parents a deeper look at the transition from elementary school grade 5 to middle school grade 6. Furthermore, they offered helpful strategies to influence the students to develop good learning habits early. The topics presented were; What parents need to know about Grade 6, How to support my Grade 6 Student, Strategies to be Successful, Habitudes for Learning.
Parents experienced up close what the students are dealing with, what the teachers have observed, and were also provided student testimonials on how to adjust to life in the middle.
They went home with resources and strategies to use with their child(ren) to lessen the stress of adjusting to Life in the Middle School.
The meeting was also recorded through Google Meet and sent to all parents.
