To foster a deeper self-understanding among our middle school students, we prioritize the development of four key skills:
+
Self Awareness:
We guide students in cultivating self-awareness, encouraging them to reflect on their strengths, weaknesses, values, and interests. Through self-reflection and self-assessment activities, they gain a better understanding of their unique qualities and develop a stronger sense of identity.
+
Resilience:
We equip students with resilience, enabling them to bounce back from setbacks and overcome challenges. By fostering a growth mindset, teaching coping strategies, and providing a supportive environment, we empower them to persevere, adapt, and learn from adversity.
+
Social-Emotional Skills:
We recognize the significance of social-emotional skills for healthy relationships and overall well-being. Students learn empathy, active listening, conflict resolution, and effective communication. These skills enable them to develop positive relationships, navigate social dynamics, and cultivate emotional intelligence.
+
Life Skills:
We prioritize the development of essential life skills, including time management. Students learn how to effectively organize their time, set goals, prioritize tasks, and manage their responsibilities. These skills empower them to become more independent, balanced, and successful in their academic pursuits and beyond.
By focusing on these key skills, we empower our middle school students to deepen their self-awareness, cultivate resilience, foster healthy relationships, and acquire crucial life skills. These skills form the foundation for their personal growth, academic success, and overall well-being, setting them on a path toward a bright and fulfilling future.
MIDDLE SCHOOL DAILY SCHEDULE
Our classes use the block scheduling system (90 minutes per class) to accommodate our focus in hands-on learning. By providing students more time per class, they are able to dive deeper into the subject and test out their knowledge in different ways such as incorporating brainstorming sessions, divided learning stations, design thinking projects, and peer reviewing the result of their learning.
