Our ESLRs are what we hope our KPIS students to be able to do, show, live and breathe both while here at the school and beyond. Essentially, it is what it means to be a KPIS Graduate. KPIS ESLRs are: Effective Communicator, Lifelong Learner, Global Citizen, and Critical Thinker and Problem Solver.
Effective Communicator : As an effective communicator, we look to encourage and develop the essential skills that will enable future success at being an active listener and questioner, an effective reader, writer and speaker no matter the context, a well-planned and organized presenter, and perhaps most importantly skilled at using the English language.
Lifelong Learner : What is a Lifelong Learner? What does it mean to be involved in your own learning? How do you go about doing that? These are the kinds of reflective questions that rest at the core of what it means to be a self-directed Lifelong learner. As a school, we recognize our impact in guiding and facilitating our KPIS students towards making well-thought-out, responsible decisions that bring about success milestones in their lives that extend beyond the time that they are with us. As such we believe that one can learn from everyone, everything, everywhere at any time. It is all about the mindset.
Global Citizen : There is no question that understanding who we are, how we are all different and special, and where we are in this world gives us a deeper understanding of our role as a Global Citizen. The integration of character values, health, and cultural awareness across N-12 allows our students an opportunity to become more attuned with the world in a wider sense. All this diverse information and exposure enables a greater decision making process around physical and mental health, cultural awareness and the environment for our graduates before they head out into the adult world.
Critical Thinker and Problem Solver : Problems arise each and every day no matter what walk of life our children take; it is how they respond that will define their course of action. Here at KPIS, we want to push our children to embrace critical thought and inquiry as foundational skills and attitudes that can empower them to solve problems in a variety of different ways.
